Not Yet Officially Marketed, The IPhone 13 Series Benchmark Score Is Sticking Out

JAKARTA - Apple has announced the new iPhone 13 lineup at an event titled California Streaming. Just like the iPhone 12 series, there are four models, namely the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Although this phone has not been officially sold, the benchmark score has been successfully revealed by MacRumors, Thursday, September 16. The report compares the Gekbench scores of the iPhone 13 series with the iPhone 12 series.

Of course the result is that the new iPhone is not only more powerful than its predecessor but its performance is also different among the other generation models. It is known, the four variants of the iPhone 13 are powered by the new SoC Apple A15 Bionic. The chip is designed with 5nm fabrication technology and is claimed to be more powerful than competitors.

However, the cheaper iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini only come with 4-core GPUs, not 5-cores like the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The new 6th Generation iPad Mini features a 5-core GPU.

Due to the aforementioned differences in GPU architecture, there is a graphics performance gap between the latest iPhones. Like, the iPhone 13 scored around 10,608 on Geekbench Metal, while the iPhone 13 Pro bagged around 14216 points.

After all, the GPU in the standard iPhone 13 performs about 15 percent better than the GPU in its predecessor iPhone 12. Turning to CPU, similar scores appear across the regular and Pro devices in the iPhone 13‌ lineup as they all share the same 6-core CPU setup.

The single-core score is around 1725 and the multi-core score is generally around 4600. This iPhone 13 score represents a roughly 10 percent increase in single-core performance and an 18 percent increase in multi-core performance compared to the A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12 lineup.

With only a handful of results listed in the Geekbench database so far, this score is still a rough estimate, but the average score will improve over time. However, if you want the best graphics on your iPhone for gaming and other heavy-duty work, we recommend choosing the iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

In short, the specifications for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are identical, outside of the screen and body sizes. The iPhone 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Display panel, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display.

In the camera sector, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are equipped with three rear cameras, consisting of a 12 MP main camera (f/1.5), a 12 MP ultra-wide camera (f/1.8, now with Autofocus), and a 12 MP telephoto camera ( focal length 77mm, 3x optical zoom). Now, the ultra wide camera can also be used for close-up shots, aka macro.
