Tired Of Viewing Steam Ad Pages? Here's How To Remove It

JAKARTA –Are you tired of seeing pop-up ads on Steam? Steam has done enough to promote its catalog through the store, email, social media, and more so you don't need to see any pop-ups other than this.

These ads usually appear when you first launch Steam or finish playing a game. Even though the window dubbed itself “news”, it was really just a series of ads for pre-orders, sales, free weekends, and so on.

You're probably so used to seeing pop-up ads on Steam that you don't actually register them. They usually appear when you first launch Steam, or when you reach the end of a gaming session. You can see an example in the screenshot above.

How to Disable Pop-Up Ads on Steam

Open the Steam client. In the toolbar, click Steam. Click Settings. In the left menu, click Interface. Uncheck Notify me of additions or changes to my games, new releases, and future releases. Click OK. Changes will take effect immediately, no need to restart.

Despite the annoying pop-up ads, it's great that Steam makes it really easy to disable them, so don't put off using Steam. Just follow our advice and you can permanently remove those pesky ads forever.
