Mark Zuckerberg's Response To Trump's Spray

JAKARTA - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg responded to the argument between the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump and Twitter. The disagreement happened over Twitter's fact-checking feature labeling on Trump's tweet.

Reported by The Independent, President Trump was annoyed by the fact-checking label embedded in Twitter. Trump has even threatened to make it difficult for social media companies, because they are seen as silencing the voices of conservatives.

Mark Zuckerberg is worried about President Trump's statement. Moreover, he has also started implementing the 'fact-check' feature on his social media platform, Facebook.

"We have a different policy from the rest. I just firmly believe that Facebook should not be a determinant of everything that people say online. In general, private companies probably shouldn't especially this platform company shouldn't be in a position to do that," said Zuckerberg during an interview with Fox News host, The Daily Briefing, Dana Perino, Thursday, May 28.

It is known that Trump's tweet posted on Twitter was also posted on his Facebook page. While Facebook has a policy of removing content that misrepresents voting or voter registration, it will not take action against a president.

In fact, Facebook also uses a third-party fact-checking feature on its platform. The company website notes that any posts and advertisements from politicians are generally not subject to fact-checking at its discretion.

On the other hand, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey spoke about the usefulness of the fact-checking feature on his platform. According to him, fact checking is true, to eliminate all potential misinformation uploaded by Twitter users on social media.

"This does not make us refereeing the truth. Our aim is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show information in the dispute so that people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is essential so that people can clearly see the reasons behind our actions, "added Dorsey.
