JAKARTA - The instant messaging service WhatsApp Business is reported to have experienced an outage on Thursday, May 28, where the outage occurred when making a voice call or video call.

This disruption not only affects Indonesian users, but also globally. In several posts that flooded X social media, users and business actors complained about the problem.

Users say that even though the call status is connected, both parties can't hear each other's voice at all.

However, unlike the call feature, text communication and voice messages (voice notes) on WhatsApp Business are still running normally.

There has been no official statement from Meta, but WABetainfo reported that there will be a bug fix that will soon fix the problem.

"I am aware of an issue that is causing users to be unable to make calls smoothly on WhatsApp for Android. So, this problem is not just for you. The latest bug fix update will soon address this issue in the near future. Please wait for the update," he wrote on X.

It is not yet certain who experienced the disruption, but based on VOI's monitoring when this article was written, when trying to make voice and video calls through WhatsApp Business, everything went normal and both parties could hear each other's voices.
