Apple has released the fourth beta version of the iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 updates. The operating system (OS) was launched specifically for developers as part of the testing.

This fourth beta version comes after a week Apple launched the third beta version to the public. Registered developers can now download the update via the Settings menu on an iPhone or iPad device.

The installation process can be done by going to the General section and then selecting the Software Update menu. In this latest version, Apple introduced the Recommended Places feature in the Maps app.

This feature was added to recommend interesting locations based on search trends. In addition, there are indications that the technology company will add ads to the Maps application.

Another thing that is visible is the increase in end-to-end encryption for RCS messages between iPhone and Android users. Apple is trying to strengthen the security of this cross-platform communication before it is officially released.

Specifically for the European Union region, Apple is testing an integration feature for third-party wearable devices such as smartwatches. This feature will later allow non-Apple smartwatches to have functions similar to the Apple Watch.

Despite bringing many new features, this update is confirmed to not include an improvement in the ability for the Siri voice assistant.
