JAKARTA - Mozilla officially released Firefox 150 with major updates in the security and productivity sectors. A total of 271 security holes were closed, most of which were found with the help of advanced AI from Anthropic, namely Claude Mythos.
The AI model acts as a "force multiplier" for Mozilla's security team. In a short time, Claude Mythos was able to identify various vulnerabilities, ranging from minor bugs to serious risks, through in-depth and rapid analysis of source code - something that would normally take months if done manually.
Firefox CTO Bobby Holley called the use of this AI a turning point in the world of cybersecurity. "This technology changes the game. Analysis that used to only be done by elite researchers can now be automated," he said.
Interestingly, AI does not find completely new types of bugs, but rather speeds up the process of massive identification - like opening a faucet of findings that were previously blocked by time and human resources.
In addition to increased security, Firefox 150 also brings a number of new features to improve user productivity. One of the prominent features is the Split View feature, which is now more intuitive, allowing users to open two pages side by side more easily.
Tab management has also been updated. Users can now copy multiple tabs at once complete with their titles and links, making it easier to switch workflows between applications.
On the document side, the built-in PDF editor is now more complete. Users can rearrange pages, delete certain sections, to export individual pages - features that were previously identical to specialized software.
Not to forget, the real-time translation feature is now directly present in the browser without the need for additional extensions. This system is able to detect the language automatically and translate the content instantly.
This combination of AI-based security and feature enhancements points to a new direction for browser development: not just faster and lighter, but also smarter and more autonomous.
