JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs admitted that it was conducting a thorough investigation regarding the alleged leak of unreleased game materials from the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS).

Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at Kemkomdigi, Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, stated that the evaluation and investigation were carried out by involving associations and industry players.

"To avoid assumptions circulating on social media, the process is now in the overall investigation process, both in terms of policy, systems and processes, or tools and technology, to the organization and its human resources," said Sonny on Friday, April 17.

Previously, several foreign media said there was a security gap in the system that made the private submission material for the gum classification process allegedly accessible to the public.

This triggered the circulation of gameplay footage from a number of major titles that have not been released, one of which is affected by the 007: First Light game by IO Interactive.

Some netizens saw the gameplay footage lasted more than an hour, including the ending of the story, even though the game is scheduled to be released on May 27.

Not only 007: First Light, the game leak also affected Bandai Namco's Echoes of Aincrad gameplay, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, and Konami's Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, although the copies have not been widely spread.

"All parties involved, including publishers or the industry itself, we are involved in this process. So we will update the results of the investigation at the earliest opportunity after we get the results, so that there are no more assumptions in the field," said Sonny.
