JAKARTA - WhatsApp has started to launch an interface update with Apple's Liquid Glass design. This update is being expanded to all iPhone devices with the iOS 26 operating system (OS).
The latest design was spotted by WABetaInfo in the 26.14.76 version of the app update which is now available on the App Store. From the many changes in the interface, the most striking change is seen in the bottom tab bar.
Now, the bar looks as if it is floating. This semi-transparent design gives a depth effect so that the interface no longer feels static when the user switches menus.
Background elements will now be faintly visible behind the navigation bar when users scroll through chat content. In addition, changes can also be seen on various interactive buttons in the application with a subtle light reflection.
When pressed, the buttons provide a smoother animated response. In addition to the buttons, the context menu now has a transparent display that slightly reflects the color of the content behind it.
WhatsApp also introduced a new, lighter keyboard design that is integrated with the Liquid Glass design. The application offers a keyboard with a softer design and deep transparency in both light and dark modes.
This interface update is still being rolled out gradually to WhatsApp users around the world. If the new look has not appeared, users are advised to check for updates periodically in the app store.
