JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Police to reduce the coordination process and speed up the response to public reports.

"We have recorded a fairly high increase in digital fraud. We also received many complaints about sexual extortion (sextortion) to online gambling, which is still a PR. Hopefully with this MoU, we can suppress these cases in the next year," said Meutya, quoted Tuesday, April 14.
The work flow reduction in question is that the process that previously required correspondence between institutions will be simplified into a more integrated system so that responses to public reports can be faster.
In addition, the two institutions will simplify the complaint service. Currently, the public is familiar with several complaint channels, including through telephone numbers 110 and 112. But in the future, the command center system will be integrated so that reports can enter through one door and be immediately followed up.
"We want 110 and 112 to be combined because in principle the command center must be more efficient and the public who wants to report can be received faster," said Meutya.
The Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that this agreement provides room for faster and coordinated handling in the field.
"The proliferation of online fraud, online gambling, and various forms of scams must be responded to with more optimal steps. We want to prevent the emergence of new victims and ensure that every report can be dealt with faster," he explained.
