JAKARTA - The popular game platform Roblox has officially announced a major step in improving children's security by introducing an age-based account system. This new policy comes amid growing global scrutiny of child protection issues in the digital world.
In a recent report, Roblox stated that it would begin implementing two special account categories for young users starting in early June 2026. Children aged 5 to 8 years will be in the "Roblox Kids" category, while users aged 9 to 15 years will use the "Roblox Select" account.
Roblox Chief Safety Officer, Matt Kaufman, emphasized that this change will also be followed by much stricter content standards. Only games and content that meet certain requirements will be able to appear in each of these account categories.
