JAKARTA - Zynga together with NaturalMotion has started a limited trial of the latest free-to-play mobile game from the Borderlands franchise, which is available for iOS devices via the App Store in the United States.
NaturalMotion's developer is said to be developing an untitled mobile Borderlands project, with creative support from Gearbox regarding the design, history, and lore of the franchise.
"Zynga's NaturalMotion studio is currently conducting a limited trial for an untitled Borderlands mobile project, with Gearbox providing creative guidance on the design, history, and background of the franchise's story," a Zynga representative told Gematsu.
In this trial version, players can create chaos with their respective play styles through a diverse weapon loot system.
There, players will take on the role of a Vault Hunter and join a constantly evolving world to fight against greedy corporations and open legendary Vaults.
In addition, players can also collect various rare loot, improve character abilities, and customize their play style using a variety of weapons, ranging from pistols to rocket launchers.
"Use everything from guns to rocket launchers to make your enemies regret crossing paths with you," the game's description reads.
The action gameplay has also been optimized specifically for mobile devices. Players will face various enemies such as skags, bandits, to bosses in a number of mission types, including Campaign Missions, Tower of Terror, and Circle of Slaughter.
Zynga said this test is still limited and is carried out within a certain period of time. Player feedback will be used to refine the gameplay experience before further announcements regarding the Borderlands mobile project.
