The Booming Sound That Shocked Netizens On Twitter?

JAKARTA - Social media Twitter was shocked by a number of posts claiming to have heard a sound of some kind of loud bang this early in the morning. This phenomenon is said to be heard throughout Central Java.

Hashtags or hashtags #Dentuman are also lined up on Twitter's trending topic. This is because many netizens are of the opinion that the sound of this boom is similar to what happened to Jabodetabek residents some time ago.

Not a few netizens said that the sound of this boom was a phenomenon of falling meteors or asteroids. "Meteor, if the asteroid does not fall, then the earth's atmosphere will burn or it will be destroyed to become dust," said the account @mprivate_i.

According to some netizens, the sound of the crash was also heard in parts of Pati, Semarang, Solo and Yogyakarta. Some even claim to see this celestial phenomenon which is the cause of the sound of a thump.

Even so, there has been no definite confirmation regarding what some of the netizens in Central Java actually felt, this Monday morning. The reason is that many netizens don't even feel the sound of the boom.

Mysterious Banging Sound

It was previously known that the natural phenomenon of this booming sound also occurred in the Jabodetabek area on April 11, many claiming that it was the sound of a lava explosion originating from Mount Anak Krakatau. Speculation about the origin of the sound of the boom has yet to find a scientific explanation.

If not, the roar of Mount Anak Krakatau, which erupted, is another speculation that the roar came from flight activity. Where, in general, a thumping sound occurs when a high-speed jet aircraft manages to break the sound wall and produce a sonic boom.

However, a number of theories that come closest to the sound of the crash are thought to have come from the roar of lightning or the phenomenon of falling meteors and asteroids. Moreover, recently the National Space Aviation Institute (LAPAN) revealed that there are seven asteroids that are approaching Earth's orbit. Even so, the orbit or trajectory of the asteroid will not threaten the earth.

Abroad, this booming sound phenomenon is known as Skyquake. Reporting from the ThoughtCo page, the skyquake or mystery boom phenomenon is marked by the arrival of a very loud voice coming from the sky.

The sound of thumping can be only once or repeatedly and sounds like a cannon shot, a sonic boom, or a trumpet. Even reported this phenomenon, has been heard for years in various parts of the world.

Skyquake has occurred in India, United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Scotland, Italy and Ireland. This phenomenon also has various terms, in Bangladesh, the skyquake is called Barisal guns.

In addition, Italy has several names for skyquakes, namely balza, brontidi, lagoni, and marine. Meanwhile in Japan, the boom is named umimari (crying from the sea).

Scientists believe there are several events that may not be the cause of the skyquake. There is no evidence that the booming sound originated from an industrial catastrophe due to global warming, shifting tectonic plates, and holes in the ozone layer.
