MacBook Neo Second Generation Rumored to Use Touch Screen

MacBook Ultra is not the only Apple-made laptop that is expected to use a touchscreen. The MacBook Neo 2 also has similar rumors.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, reported by MacRumors, predicts that this entry-level laptop with the most affordable price will use a screen similar to the high-end MacBook. Most likely, the Neo 2 MacBook will be released in 2027.

The MacBook Neo is a device developed specifically to compete with Windows laptops and Chromebooks in the same segment. Unlike current models, the MacBook Neo 2 is rumored to adopt on-cell touch panel technology.

This technology integrates the touch sensor directly into the screen layer to reduce the thickness of the device. This touch sensor integration is in line with Apple's plans to introduce macOS support for touch screen features on a wide scale.

In addition, Apple is also expected to embed the A19 Pro processor into the new MacBook 2. The processor is likely to be combined with a larger memory capacity of up to 12GB.

Currently, the technical specifications for the MacBook Neo 2 are uncertain and may still change in the future. However, Apple's main focus remains the same, namely to present a device with a very thin design.

In addition to the MacBook, Apple is also rumored to be expanding the 'Neo' line to other Apple product lines such as the Apple Watch. This strategy is carried out to provide more device options at an economical price for consumers globally.
