JAKARTA - Canva announced the acquisition of MangoAI and Cavalry, two artificial intelligence companies, to strengthen its suite of AI features and professional creative software.
This acquisition marks Canva's fourth and fifth acquisitions in the last two years, following Affinity (2024), Leonardo (2024), and MagicBrief (2025), as the company focuses more on building the world's most complete suite of visual communication tools.
By combining Cavalry and MangoAI into its unified design platform, Canva is accelerating its investment in the technology and talent that shapes the future of creativity.

By acquiring MangoAI, Canva is also increasingly focused on building new reliable products for marketing and creative teams.

Meanwhile, by acquiring Cavalry, a UK-based 2D animation platform trusted by leading graphic designers, Canva is advancing its efforts towards professional-grade creative tools.
Made by animators, for animators, Cavalry makes 2D animation smarter, easier, and faster to produce. It removes barriers for creatives working with separate, expensive, and fragmented tools.

Meanwhile, as part of the acquisition, MangoAI co-founder Nirmal Govind joined Canva as its first Chief Algorithms Officer, a new role reflecting Canva's deepening investment in the areas of AI research, personalization, and internal model development.
