WordPress Officially Introduces New AI Assistant to Help Write and Manage Sites

WordPress.com has officially launched WordPress AI Assistant, an artificial intelligence-based assistant to help users write, design, and manage content directly on its platform.

If previously WordPress had offered a conversation-based AI website builder to create a site from scratch, now a similar ability is brought directly into the editor and Media Library.

WordPress emphasizes that the AI Assistant works integrated within the site, so users don't have to copy-paste, compose complicated prompts, or understand additional code.

"WordPress AI Assistant works inside your site. It understands your content and layout and can act without the need to copy and paste, without the need for command engineering, and without the need to think about what code to do," wrote the announcement.

Some examples of commands that can be performed include:

adjust the layout to be more modern change the color of the site to be brighter add a testimonial section or contact page rewrite the text to be more confident translate content into other languages provide article title options

This feature is available at no additional cost to WordPress.com users with the Business or Commerce plan, who can optionally enable it.

In addition to text and design, the WordPress AI Assistant also supports the creation and editing of images directly in the Media Library, thanks to support for the latest Nano Banaran model.

In addition, AI Assistant has also been expanded to the block notes feature introduced in WordPress 6.9. Through block notes, users and teams can collaborate while asking AI for help to perform fact-checking, find headline ideas, or strengthen paragraphs with additional examples.

Users can activate the WordPress AI Assistant through the Settings menu by selecting the "AI tools" option and turning on the toggle feature. For users who purchase a site through the AI website builder, the AI Assistant feature will be automatically activated in all packages.
