JAKARTA - In its financial performance report for the fourth quarter of 2025, Spotify revealed that its monthly active user count increased 11% YoY (year on year) to 751 million users.

In addition, Spotify Premium subscribers also grew 10% to 290 million, with the company's total revenue increasing 13% year-on-year to 4.5 billion euros, and posting operating income of 701 million euros.

Spotify founder and Executive Chairman Daniel Ek said Spotify is now evolving as a technology platform for audio and is increasingly broad in supporting how creators connect with audiences.

"Right now, what we've really built is a technology platform for audio - and increasingly, for all the ways creators connect with audiences. And this identity will be even more important in the future," Daniel Ek said in his announcement.

Spotify's co-CEO, Alex Norström, also added that the fourth quarter was a strong finish to what they called "Year of Accelerated Execution", with achievements that met or exceeded the company's guidance across all key metrics.

"It's truly incredible to think that we now serve more than three-quarters of a billion people around the world. We're framing 2026 as a Year of Increasing Ambition," he added.

In addition to user growth, Spotify highlighted a number of product and service innovations throughout the fourth quarter of 2025.

Spotify's annual Wrapped campaign is said to be the largest in history, with more than 300 million users involved and 630 million shared on social media in 56 languages.

Spotify is also expanding its audiobooks feature in the Premium package to five new countries in the Nordic region, as well as introducing technologies such as Audiobook Recaps and Page Match for a more integrated reading experience.

On the creator ecosystem side, Spotify revealed that it had paid more than 11 billion US dollars to the music industry throughout 2025, with independent artists and labels accounting for half of the total royalties.

The company is also expanding the Spotify Partner Program in the Nordic region and starting to roll out a music video feature in beta for Premium users in the United States and Canada.

"The entire industry will benefit from this change, but those who move quickly will reap the greatest benefits," said Spotify Co-CEO, Gustav Söderström.
