Palo Alto Networks announced it has completed the acquisition of Chronosphere, to address the key challenge of AI, namely the inability to see and secure the massive volume of data that runs modern businesses.
Chronosphere is the leader of the observability platform in Gartner's 2025 Magic Quadrant. This technology is made to manage large-scale cloud-native environments that are difficult to handle with old tools.
Through this acquisition, Palo Alto Networks will provide real-time visibility over applications, infrastructure, and AI systems, so that organizations can operate faster without losing control of costs and data.
The plan to integrate Palo Alto Networks Cortex AgentiX with Chronosphere's cloud-native observability platform will allow customers to deploy AI agents that are able to automatically discover and fix security and IT issues, before the issues impact customers or the business.
"Companies are now looking for fewer vendors, deeper partnerships, and platforms they can rely on for security and operations that are mission-critical. Chronosphere accelerates our vision," said Nikesh Arora, Chairman and CEO, Palo Alto Networks.
Nikesh said the company believes that great security starts with deep visibility into all data, and Chronosphere provides that foundation for their customers.
Through this acquisition, Co-founder and CEO, Chronosphere Martin Mao officially joined Palo Alto Networks as SVP, GM Observability.
"Joining Palo Alto Networks allows us to bring AI-era observability to a global audience. Together, we are introducing a new standard - where observability, security, and AI unite to give organizations control over their most valuable asset: data," he said.
