Huawei Rises, Ready To Duel With Google Android And Apple IOS

JAKARTA – The Chinese technology company, Huawei is preparing to launch the HarmonyOS operating system to the public on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, as reported by Reuters.

The decision to launch the homemade HarmonyOS operating system is the aftermath of sanctions imposed by the US on Huawei in May 2019.

With the presence of HarmonyOS, it is certain that all the latest Huawei-made smartphone products will not use the Android operating system. This makes Huawei no longer dependent on a number of applications made by Google such as the Play Store, YouTube, Gmail, Google Map and so on.

The HarmonyOS operating system has been launched for various Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In addition, HarmonyOS will also be applied to smartwatches, laptops and other products.

According to the Global Times report, Ma Jihua, an analyst close to Huawei, stated that the Chinese technology company could possibly surpass the industry giant in the 5G technology field.

Huawei has the opportunity to rise from adversity after the inclusion of the company's name on the US blacklist. With the presence of HarmonyOS, Huawei is likely to be able to build the world's largest 5G network ecosystem after Google Android and Apple iOS.

Huawei itself targets as many as 300 million devices already using the HarmonyOS operating system by the end of 2021, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.

Huawei boss Ren Zhengfei has been encouraging employees to “dare to lead the world” in the software industry because its hardware products have been blocked by the US. This is the right momentum for the rise of Huawei as well as to compete with Android and iOS.
