Cybersecurity Experts Warn of Impact from Alleged Apple and Nvidia Secret Data Leaks

JAKARTA - Confidential data belonging to Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla is allegedly leaked. This is allegedly due to a data security problem experienced by Luxshare, one of the world's leading hardware suppliers.

This alleged leak is very dangerous because it attacks Intellectual Property (KI) which is the most valuable digital asset today. The attacker threatened to leak sensitive design schemes and technical documentation if the ransom was not paid immediately.

According to Keeper Security CEO, Darren Guccione, the impact of this design data leak is much more damaging than just a company operational disruption. This can trigger the production of counterfeit goods that damage competitiveness in the long run.

"Intellectual Property (IP) is now one of the most valuable, and most frequently targeted, digital assets that an organization owns," said Guccione in a statement received by VOI, quoted on Thursday, January 22.

Guccione explained that the design data that had been stolen could not be reset like changing a password. When confidential manufacturing information is spread, commercial losses and national security risks will be faced by the three major companies.

Modern ransomware attacks are now shifting from simply encrypting systems to blackmailing through the disclosure of confidential data. The main damage will still occur even if the company manages to recover system access from hacker locks.

Keeper Security emphasizes the importance of strengthening identity security to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive accounts. Large manufacturing companies must be stricter in controlling third-party access as well as automating APIs that connect to important data.
