JAKARTA - Two years after its launch, Meta announced that it would expand ad viewing on the Threads platform to all users worldwide.

Meta said that ads on Threads are powered by Meta's AI-based ad system, so there is a high level of personalization, and the same as the ads you normally see on other Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

"Expanding ads on Threads to all users will be done gradually, with ad impressions initially remaining low as we reach global availability for users in the coming months," the tech giant wrote in its announcement.

With this global ad availability, Meta is also introducing many new features, such as making it easier to manage Threads accounts directly in Business Settings, along with Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp accounts using the Meta Business Suite.

Ads on Threads now also offer a 4:5 aspect ratio, a carousel format, and the latest is the ability to run catalog ads and the Advantage+ app on Threads.

Meta is also expanding third-party verification, which is already available on Facebook and Instagram feeds and Reels, to the Threads feed through Meta Business Partners.

"We know how important transparency and control are for businesses, which is why we're proud to provide independent brand safety and suitability verification for the Threads feed," Meta added.

With the presence of ads on Threads, Meta hopes businesses can while finding new ways to connect with the people who are most interested in their business.
