JAKARTA - Apple Fitness+ has officially launched in Japan. This expansion of Apple's fitness service is in line with the launch in the 28 regions announced earlier, including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, and others.
In the fitness service, Apple introduced a unique feature in the form of exercises and meditations supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) based dubbing technology. With this feature, users can listen to the instructor's voice in Japanese with a tone similar to the original voice.
To enjoy this service, users must update their iPhone operating system (OS) to iOS version 26.1 or later. Japanese support is available in conjunction with other language options such as Spanish and German.
For subscription fees, Apple has set a rate of 980 yen (Rp105 thousand) per month or around 7,800 yen (Rp836 thousand) per year. This pricing is considered competitive to compete with other local fitness apps already on the Japanese market.
In an effort to attract new users, customers who buy new Apple products such as the iPhone or Apple Watch will get a free trial for three months. Other products such as AirPods Pro 3 and Powerbeats Pro 2 are also included in the list of devices that are entitled to the bonus.
To celebrate this premiere, Apple released exclusive content titled Time to Walk featuring Japanese comedian Naomi Watanabe. In the 17-minute audio, Naomi shares her inspiration about her career journey while walking with users.
This launch is expected to encourage a healthy lifestyle for Japanese people through the integration of Apple devices they own. With easy access and instructions in the local language, Apple is optimistic that this service will receive a warm welcome in the country.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
