On this occasion, Telkomsel also introduced the 5G Early Bird Data Package. This type of 5G data package can only be obtained by customers through the invitation system.

Telkomsel's Marketing Director, Rachel Goh, said that customers who received an invitation could immediately purchase the data package. Goh also explained that the Early Bird 5G data package is priced at IDR 26,000 and contains a quota of 126GB.

Areas That Get Telkomsel 5G Access

Telkomsel's Network Director, Nugroho, revealed that his party will roll out 5G connections in nine major cities for the initial stage. Furthermore, the nine cities will later be divided into 26 clusters, where the selection prioritizes the center of the crowd and settlements.

"Currently, 5G is only available in a limited way in South Jakarta and North Jakarta," explained Nugroho.

Quoting Telkomsel's official website, for the South Jakarta area, the areas that were found to have this connection quota include the Ministerial Service Housing Widya Chandra and the Widya Chandra Complex, Pondok Indah Town House, and Pondok Indah Housing.

For areas outside Jakarta, Telkomsel provides 5G networks in several locations. These include South Tangerang, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Solo, Denpasar, Batam, and Balikpapan.

Unlike when the internet connection changes from 3G to 4G, users no longer need to upgrade or update the card. All 4G or USIM card users can connect automatically with a 5G connection.

However, not just any cellphone with a 5G connection can connect. You still need to unlock it to be able to connect to 5G frequencies in Indonesia. You should know, not all 5G phones that have been launched can connect to the Telkomsel network. Because the phone must support the frequency band of 2,300 MHz (band n40).

As is known, on 5G connections, Telkomsel relies on the n40 band at a frequency of 2.3 GHz. While in Indonesia, there are already several 5G smartphones that are ready to connect with this connection. Among others:
