JAKARTA - Amazon announced the presence of Alexa+, its Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant, in a web version at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Now, Alexa+ can be accessed through the Alexa.com website.

Through the launch of this site, Amazon wants to change the Alexa+ interaction system like other popular AI chatbots. That way, user access is no longer limited to Echo, a physical device based on Alexa developed by Amazon.

The US-based company realized that they had to make Alexa relevant to compete competitively with its competitors. To remain competitive in the AI chatbot market, Amazon needs to expand to the web and update the Alexa mobile app.

Unlike before, Alexa now has an interface that is more similar to an 'AI agent'. In this overhaul, the AI application is now more similar to a chat room chatbot in general. The Alexa.com website also has a similar appearance, only that the access is more efficient because it can be on any device.

On the Alexa.com site, users can complete complex tasks such as planning a trip to creating creative content. However, Alexa can still manage smart home devices in an integrated manner. For example, users can update the family calendar, order a restaurant table, and more.

The website has a special navigation sidebar to speed up access to the features that customers use most often. Through the update of the Alexa app and the launch of the website, Amazon hopes that this AI assistant can still be used outside the home environment or controlled remotely.

Currently, access to Alexa.com is still limited for customers registered in the Early Access program. Amazon plans to gradually open this access to millions of other Alexa users around the world.
