Google is celebrating New Year's Eve again by presenting an annual Doodle that appears on the search engine's main page.

This doodle marks the moment of the turn of the year, which is celebrated simultaneously around the world, when billions of people gather with family and friends to close the old year and welcome the new year.

"This annual doodle celebrates New Year's Eve around the world, when billions of people gather with friends and family to reflect on the year that has passed and welcome the new year," Google wrote in its announcement.

For this celebration, the Google Doodle features a gif with the number "2026" designed to resemble a silver metallic balloon, as if floating in the air, placed in the middle of a Google logo that appears in a shiny gold color.

The dominance of the gold color in the Google logo symbolizes cheerfulness and optimism, while the balloon number 2026 represents a new beginning that is celebrated together.

Then, Google also added other visual elements such as confetti, ribbons, and fireworks decorations that strengthen the atmosphere of counting down to midnight.

If compared to the New Year's Eve Doodle in previous years, this time's design shows a significant difference.

On New Year's Eve 2024, Google used a cosmic-themed visual approach with a dark background and light effects resembling galaxies, highlighting the reflective and time-transitional impression.

Meanwhile, on New Year's Eve 2023, the Doodle appears more cheerful with bright colors, various confetti illustrations, and disco ball-shaped graphic elements that represent a global party.
