Micro Ingram Highlights Risk Of AI Adoption Failure, Pushes For Private Cloud AI Adoption

JAKARTA Behind the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), this technology presents a number of new challenges for the business world in Indonesia. One of the highlights of Ingram Micro is its failure.

Mulia Dewi Karnadi, President Director of Micro Indonesia Ingram, said that Indonesia has a high level of digital iteration so that the pace of adoption of new technology can run quickly. However, there needs to be a strategy in this adoption in order to produce results.

"We see that the leaders and the creators of technology ... (need) to build its ecosystem so that it can adopt different AI technologies," said Dewi at the 2025 Ingram Micro Innovation Day on Tuesday, December 9.

Dewi admits that not all AI adoptions for customers are successful. In fact, sometimes the 'failment rate is much higher'. Therefore, Dewi believes that AI adoption requires careful planning and qualified supporting infrastructure.

The infrastructure that Dewi highlighted was hybrid cloud and private cloud AI. The architecture is called crucial, especially for the corporate or entertainment level in Indonesia. The foundation of the adoption of this technology is the need for data and operational optimization.

Companies are advised to use AI-based hybrid or private cloud because both are considered superior in maintaining the confidentiality of the company. However, private cloud AI is considered more promising in maintaining company data.

In addition to the use of private cloud AI, collaborative support is also considered to be able to overcome the risk of failure. In the end, the success of AI adoption in Indonesia does not only lie in the availability of technology.

The success of AI adoption also relies on a strong collaborative ecosystem and serious attention to data security and control. Ingram Micro is also committed to continuing to build this ecosystem.
