JAKARTA - Warner Music Group, announced its latest partnership with Suno, an artificial intelligence-based music company (AI), to provide protection and compensation for artists, songwriters, and the creative community.
This agreement combines Suno's AI capabilities with WMG artist development expertise, which combines music and technology. The deal also finalizes previous litigation between the two companies.
WMG CEO Robert Kyncl said that this important agreement with Suno was a victory for the creative community that would benefit all parties.
"AI becomes pro-artis when complying with our principles: committed to licensed models, reflecting the value of music on and off platforms, and giving artists and songwriters the right to use their names, pictures, looks, sounds, and compositions in new AI songs," Kyncl said in his official announcement.
Meanwhile, Suno CEO bilang Shulman said the partnership would provide richer experiences for creators and music lovers.
"This means we will be rolling out new, more sophisticated features for creativity, opportunities to collaborate and interact with some of the most talented musicians in the world, while continuing to build the largest possible music ecosystem," he added.
In 2026, Suno will make some changes to its platform, including launching new models that are more sophisticated and licensed.
When new models are launched later, the current models will be stopped. In the future, audio downloading will require a paid account.
