IOS 27 Reportedly Focuses On Stability, Similar To The MacOS Snow Leopard Approach

JAKARTA - Apple is said to be preparing iOS 27 with a different approach from previous years. Instead of presenting hundreds of new features, the update, which is planned to be released in the fall of 2026, will actually focus on improving AI-based performance, stability and optimization.

According to Mark Gurman's report in the Power On Bloomberg bulletin, Apple will make massive improvements to the entire 27th generation operating system starting from iOS 27, macOS 27, to other platforms. However, there will be no major breakthroughs in terms of features like on iOS 26 that introduce the design Liquid Glass and various Apple Intelligence updates.

This approach reminded the launch of Mac OS X Snow Leopard in 2009. At that time, Apple chose to stop adding a lot of features and focus on improving the system's foundations, rewriting several core functions, reducing bugs, and optimizing performance.

The same thing is now being done again. After years of flooding the operating system with new features, Apple is said to want to strengthen its software foundation to be ready to welcome future device lines, including the iPhone Fold which is estimated to use two screens, the expansion of the smart home device, to the possibility of Apple's robotics.

Apple's engineering team is reportedly working on clearing old codes, repairing accumulated bugs, and maximizing existing features, to produce more stable and more responsive OS.

Although the main focus is stability, iOS 27 is still expected to bring a number of updates. Just like Snow Leopard, which still brings a new Safari 4 and QuickTime X, iOS 27 is likely to bring additional tweets to Liquid Glass as well as a more mature AI feature.

These AI features can include:

Apple Intelligence upgrade,

Siri's great evolution after the iOS 264 update,

Health AI agents whose rumors will enter the Health+ subscription package,

As well as Apple's internal chatbot technology called Veritas, which may no longer be just a trial project for Siri, but Apple's AI foundation in the future.

Although it does not yet have many striking features, iOS 27 is projected to be an important update that strengthens the quality of Apple's strategic steps to deal with new wave of devices and technologies in the next few years.
