JAKARTA Google announced on Friday, November 14, 2025, that it will invest $ 40 billion or around IDR 668 trillion in the construction of its three new data centers in Texas.

This large amount of investment was disbursed to expand the infrastructure capacity of artificial intelligence (AI) amid increasingly massive demand for AI and cloud globally. According to Reuters, this investment will run until 2027.

Google isn't the only big tech company to spend large amounts of money building AI infrastructure. OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon are also part of the companies that are building new data centers to focus on AI.

Google revealed that one of the three new data centers will be located in Armstrong County, in the Texas Panhandle area. Two other data centers will be established in Haskell County, an area in West Texas near the city of Abilene.

"This investment will create thousands of jobs, provide skills training for students and electrical internship workers, as well as accelerate energy affordability initiatives across Texas," said Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.

In addition to new facilities, Google will also invest funds in the existing Midlothian campus and the Dallas cloud area. These two facilities are part of Google's global network of 42 cloud areas worldwide.

On the other hand, the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, enthusiastically welcomed this investment. According to him, "Google's 40 billion dollars investment makes Texas the largest Google investment in any state in the country."
