JAKARTA Apple is seen adding new capabilities on Apple TV via tvOS 26.2. With this capability, users can create new profiles without the need to own or log in to Apple Accounts.
These changes are useful for those who want to create a special profile, either for guests or children at home. Now, when users open the 'Add New Profile' option in Settings, they won't be asked to log in to an Apple device or account.
Instead, users will see a simpler 'Create Profile' option. Users only need to enter the name and select the profile rating. There are also questions with a 'yes' or 'no' answer about the status of the new user.
If the user selects 'yes' for child users, the content will be limited to PG rankings automatically. Interestingly, Apple still provides parental controls. They can choose the ranking of TV shows and movies according to their child's age.

This rating restriction will change the content available on the Apple TV app as a whole. The app will only display content that suits the set limits for the child's account.
These changes also provide benefits for adult users who don't have an Apple Account. They can now create profiles with personalized content recommendations. These accounts can later be improved in the future or completely deleted.
For now, only registered developers can access the feature. Apple will roll out this feature widely after the testing period ends and public releases are made.
