JAKARTA Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that currently there is no active talk regarding the sale of Blackwell's advanced chips to China. This was conveyed by Huang on Friday, November 7 during his short visit to Taiwan.

The Blackwell chip is Nvidia's latest and most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) processor. However, United States President Donald Trump's administration is still banning its sale to China for fear the chip could be used to strengthen China's domestic AI military and industrial capabilities.

Previously there was speculation that a meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea last week might result in a deal that would allow a limited version of Blackwell to be sold in China. But until now, no sign of the agreement has been reached.

"For now, we don't plan to send anything to China," Huang said after arriving in Tainan City during his fourth public visit to Taiwan this year. Everything depends on China, when they want Nvidia products to return to serving their markets. I hope they can change their policies," he added.

The US government has so far only allowed Nvidia to sell H20 chips to the Chinese market. But Huang has confirmed several times in the past month that China does not want Nvidia products, so the company's market share in China's advanced AI chip segment is now zero.

In a live broadcast of Formosa TV, Huang also revealed that he came to Taiwan for a day and a half to visit his old partner, TSMC, as well as attend the company's annual sports activities.

"Our business is very strong," Huang said. "I came back to give encouragement to my friends at TSMC."

When asked about Tesla's CEO Elon Musk's plan to build a semiconductor (fab) plant, Huang said that building state-of-the-art chip manufacturing facilities like TSMC did was "very difficult", but insisted that the technology was very important and his demand was extremely high.

Huang also straightened out his statement quoted by the Financial Times about China which is said to be winning the AI race. "That's not what I said," he said. What I mean is that China has excellent AI technology and a lot of great AI researchers."

According to Huang, about 50% of world AI researchers are in China, and most of the most popular open source AI models are also from the country.

"They are moving very fast," he said. The United States must continue to move extraordinarily fast too. This world is very competitive, so we have to run faster. "
