Discord Presents More Security Control Features For Youth Accounts

JAKARTA Discord improves security control for parents who want to monitor the activities of their teenage children. The platform expands its control through the Family Center feature or the Family Center.

The main feature that Discord added is the ability to control the screening of sensitive content of their teenage children. In addition, parents now have greater control over who is allowed to send Direct Messages (DM).

Next, there is a new button called Social Permissions or Social Permissions. With this feature, guardians or parents can choose the type of DM restriction. They can also set their account to receive messages from friends or server members only.

Discord also guarantees the main privacy of teenagers on its platform. The app confirms that guardians or parents will not be allowed to view messages sent or received by their children.

Discord's focus on providing parental control is an increase in terms of accessibility, not on communication content. That way, parents and guardians are expected to prioritize the privacy of their teens.

The Family Center will also display more detailed data in weekly activity summarys. This data will include new information in the form of total purchases, total call minutes, as well as a list of the top users and servers accessed in the last seven days.

Teenagers can also see the same summary of activities as their guardians see. Although teenage children's accounts can be controlled, teens must provide a QR code before their account is controlled. In addition, the guardian cannot control the server directly.
