Nintendo Switch 2 Already Sold More Than 10 Million Console Units

Nintendo has officially recorded a new milestone through the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which has sold 10.36 million console units and 20.62 million game units from its debut until September 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, based on data from the company's official financial statements, the Nintendo Switch remains one of the best-selling consoles with a total of 154.01 million units sold and 1.45 billion games since it was first released in 2017 to September 30.

Based on data from Euroland IR, first-generation Nintendo Switch hardware sales have decreased in the last five years, from 2.88 million units in fiscal year 2021 to only 1.08 million units by 2025.

A similar decline also occurred in software sales, where Nintendo Switch software sales decreased from 230 million units in 2021 to 155 million units by 2025.

Launching Gematsu, in line with the high demand for Switch 2, Nintendo has also revised its fiscal year sales projections for 2025.

For Nintendo Switch 2, sales targets were raised from 15 million to 19 million hardware units, and from 45 million to 48 million software units.

As for the first-generation Nintendo Switch, projections were adjusted from 4.5 million to four million hardware units, and from 105 million to 125 million software units.
