Is The IPhone 17 Much Better Than Chinese-made Phones? This Is A Comparison Of The Specifications

JAKARTA Apple has launched the iPhone 17 Series at a fairly fantastic price, including in Indonesia. This device is priced at IDR 17 million to IDR 43 million.

With this price range, many have asked whether the iPhone 17 is much better than a flagship phone made in China. To find out which one is much better, we need to explore the components to the features Apple has to offer with other manufacturers.

The iPhone 17 comes with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR screen and brings ProMotion support to the standard model for the first time. This screen supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and the Always-On Display feature.

The peak brightness reaches 3000 nits outdoors, a significant increase from the previous generation. However, competitors such as Xiaomi 17 and Vivo X300 offer greater brightness, 3500 nits and 4500 nits, respectively.

In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 is powered by a 3nm fabrication A19 processor. Apple claims this processor is much faster than the A15 used by the iPhone 13 and is equipped with a Neural Engine 16-core to work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tasks.

However, competitors from China use stronger processors such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and MediaTek Dimensity 9500. In multitasking and gaming workloads, their performance is now equivalent or even beyond Apple's efficiency advantages.

Apple has also upgraded its rear camera settings to a 48MP main camera and 48MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera now uses an 18MP sensor with the Center Stage feature.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi 17 carries three Leica-powered 50MP cameras, while Vivo X300 offers a 200MP sensor with Zeiss-certified periscope lenses. Hardwarely, the camera system of Chinese phones remains superior.

Although Apple is increasing charging speed to 40W USB-C, Chinese flagship phones offer large batteries and charging. For example, Xiaomi 17 has a 7000mAh battery, while OPPO Find X9 uses a 7025mAh silicon-carbon battery.

In terms of connectivity, the iPhone 17 uses a new N1 wireless processor that supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. However, Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO include more features such as an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and infrared blaster.

In conclusion, the iPhone 17 does not beat Chinese phones in terms of specifications. There are still shortcomings in the speed of charging, camera flexibility, and screen brightness.

However, this phone made by Apple has succeeded in improving the main limitations. This is the best iPhone model Apple has ever developed, even a lot of interest in the market.
