JAKARTA YouTube, a video platform under Google, announced the launch of its new feature. Now, YouTube users can set time to watch Shorts per day.
This feature is basically launched to set daily limits. That way, users can set how long they need to scroll YouTube's Shorts feed. This will create more productive habits.
This initiative is designed to give users greater control over their viewing habits. The goal is to help them become more aware and able to manage their time effectively on the platform.
"We give users another way to manage their time on YouTube," the YouTube team said via Google's help page, quoted on Thursday, October 23. "Starting today, we will start rolling out the feature for users."
This new feature works in a simple way. Users can set daily limits in scrolling the Shorts feed via Application Settings. If you have reached the specified deadline, a reminder notification will appear.

This notification tells its users that the scrolling of the Shorts feed has been fixed and users can use it the next day. This notification can be easily closed by users.
In addition to presenting the Shorts rolling limit, YouTube also plans to expand its existing parental control features. The plan includes the inclusion of Shorts feed limits into it by the end of this year.
With this control expansion, parents can activate deadlines for their children's and teenagers' accounts. This limit can also be set as an "unclosed action" for children on supervised YouTube accounts.
