JAKARTA Google is reportedly testing a new feature on its AI-based digital assistant, Gemini, which allows users to talk without pauses. This update promises a more natural and frustrated conversational experience for Android users who have switched from Google Assistant to Gemini.
So far, voice assistants often stop listening when users stop for a moment talking 'classical problems that often make long chats uncomfortable. With a new update in the Google app version 16.42.61, Gemini now allows users to hold the microphone icon to stay active until the stop button is pressed manually.
The microphone icon will turn into a stop button, indicating that the assistant is still actively listening. The system is similar to how voice messages work in chat apps, allowing users to explain long instructions or complicated questions without rushing.

Google says this update is designed to make conversations feel more "humane" and interactive, as if users are talking directly to someone instead of machines.
In addition to the feature of the conversation without pause, Google is also testing a new design for the text box which can now expand automatically when the user types. This change provides wider space for reading and editing messages without having to scroll the screen or change the orientation of the phone.
Not only that, Gemini's interface is also rumored to have a floating button that can be moved to various positions on the screen. This button gives flexibility to expand or minimize Gemini's appearance according to user needs.
Although it looks promising, all of these features are still in the trial phase and it is not certain that they will be present in the next stable version. However, if officially released, this update has the potential to make Gemini the most intuitive AI assistant in the market covering distance between humans and machines in daily digital conversations.
