Battery life has always been an important competition ground in the smartphone world, and Oppo seems to be ready to fight seriously in this area through its newest flagship, Find X9 Pro. Ahead of its official launch on October 16, preliminary test results show that this device is able to last longer than its competitors, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max although both are equipped with a 7,500mAh capacity battery.

According to results shared by Novice Evaluation, Find X9 Pro was able to last 7 hours 18 minutes in a continuous use test. This puts it slightly below iQOO Z10 Turbo+ (7 hours 31 minutes with an 8,000mAh battery), but ahead of Xiaomi 17 Pro Max which only recorded a time of 6 hours 49 minutes.

Even the standard variant of Find X9, which has a smaller battery capacity (7,025mAh), can still outperform Xiaomi by 6 hours 51 minutes. In comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is far behind with just 5 hours 26 minutes, suggesting that Android phones still dominate in terms of power resilience.

Another test round conducted by WhyLab showed similar results. Find X9 Pro is able to last up to 9 hours 30 minutes, while Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is only 8 hours 24 minutes away by more than an hour.

Interestingly, Xiaomi uses the latest chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is theoretically more efficient than the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 used by Oppo. However, Find X9 Pro remains superior, allegedly due to software optimization through ColorOS 16 which is intelligent in power management.

Netizens on platform X also highlighted this result. One user wrote, "Both use 7500mAh & Xiaomi batteries using 8e Gen 5 which is more efficient than 9500 but still lose. This is proof that software optimization is key."

Even so, keep in mind that this is still the result of pre-release testing. Differences in testing conditions or system updates such as HyperOS in the future can change the final result. However, Oppo's performance so far deserves appreciation.
