JAKARTA - Anthropic announced plans to build its new office in India in 2026. Bengaluru will be the offices of the two companies in Asia Pacific after Tokyo.
The CEO and co-founder, Dario Amodoi, recently visited India this week, to deepen the company's cooperation with the local government.
The company insists this expansion will help them serve India's fast-growing AI ecosystem as fast as it can reflect the increasing international demand for Claude.
"India is interesting because of its technical talent scale and the Indian government's commitment to ensuring the benefits of artificial intelligence reach all levels of society, not just a handful of people," said Dario.
According to him, there is a deep agreement between the challenges facing India and the Anthropic mission as a company, ranging from implementing AI in various languages and contexts, to building a framework for responsible governance.
India's AI ecosystem will play a central role in AI development globally and democratically, and we look forward to working with various organizations in India to pave the way for how useful AI can be improved in a way that serves everyone."
