Xiaomi 17 Pro Back Screen Function Is Innovative, Here's The Price

YOGYAKARTA - Officially, Xiaomi has launched its newest flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, in China. This series is here to bring interactive AMOLED rearscreen innovation and the latest increasingly sophisticated Leica camera system. This launch also marks the debut of the new "Pro Max" category that replaced the previous Ultra naming. In addition, it also confirmed that Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are the first phones in the world to be headed by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Xiaomi 17 Pro launched with a 6.3 inch 1.5K OLED flat M10 LTPO with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and super thin bezel due to LIPO packaging technology. Meanwhile, the 17 Pro Max variant carries a 6.9 inch 2K OLED flat M10 LTPO screen with independent pixel array technology that is up to 26% more power efficient.

This screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 which is useful for maximum resilience. Both utilize domestically made SuperRED materials with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, supporting HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1920Hz PWM Dimming to secure the user's eyes.

Interestingly, these two models are equipped with a rear-screen Dynamic Back Display. The back screen measures 2.7 inch (17 Pro) and 2.9 inch (17 Pro Max) using an AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

This back screen has various functions. Users can display notifications, travel tickets, sticker notes, to dynamic AI wallpapers with a unique portrait style. There is also a third generation pet Pangda virtual feature that can interact with hand movements.

In addition to productivity, this rear screen can also be used for selfies using the main camera with clearer results, as well as Handheld-Console mode to play retro games using Bluetooth accessories.

As for photography, Xiaomi collaborates with Leica with the Large F/1.67 Lensberapertur Summix system, a 950L Light Fusion sensor measuring 1/1.28 inch, and supports LOFIC High Dynamic technology for 16.5EV dynamic range.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro offers inverted telephoto floating lenses for macro through 20cm, while 17 Pro Max excels with a 5x telephoto (f/2.6, sensor 1/2") periscope with new prism technology capable of increasing light intake by 30%.

The 50MP ultra-wide camera and 50MP front camera were also upgraded, supporting recordings of up to 8K videos and 4K 60fps.

The two models are powered by a 3nm-based Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with Adreno 840 GPU, RAM to 16GB LPDDR5x, and UFS 4.1 to 1TB storage.

Pre-orders have been open in China since September 25, and official sales start from September 27, 2025. Meanwhile, there is no official information regarding global releases or to Indonesia, but usually Xiaomi's flagship will enter the international market in the next few months.
