YouTube's decision to add AI hosts on YouTube Music is in line with Google's efforts to expand AI capabilities. Google has previously used similar AI features in NotebookLM to help users review and learn various topics.
In addition to announcing Labs, YouTube also announced the expansion of several features that were previously only available to Premium users. For example, such as the AI-based forward jump feature which is now fully available on YouTube for TV and game consoles.
This future jump feature uses AI to jump into the most interesting part of a video. By expanding the Premium feature like this, YouTube is working to improve the user experience on various devices.
