JAKARTA - YouTube Premium has officially launched a series of new features for its customers on various key devices, including Smart TV, Android, and iOS. This update presents more precision 4x play speed controls, 256kbps high audio quality for music content, as well as additional features for Shorts such as Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and Smart Downloads on iOS.

One of the main improvements is the ability to set video speed in more detail. Premium customers can now speed up video playback up to 4x with fine adjustments as small as 0.05x. This control is already available on Android, iOS, and web versions.

For music lovers, the experience of listening is now clearer thanks to the expansion of the High-Quality Audio feature. Streaming with quality 256kbps was previously only available on the YouTube Music application, but now it can be enjoyed directly in the main YouTube app on Android and iOS. This feature applies specifically to official music videos and Art Tracks, thus providing more immersive sound quality.

Not only that, YouTube also enhances the experience of watching on big screens. The Jump Ahead feature that makes it easier for users to jump into important parts or the most watched in a video can now be fully accessed via Smart TV and game consoles. That way, watching long videos in the family space becomes more practical.

Meanwhile, iOS users get additional new functions for Shorts content. First, Shorts Picture-in-Picture (PiP) which allows videos to keep playing in small windows floating when users browse through other content on their devices. Second, Shorts Smart Downloads, a smart feature that automatically downloads Shorts according to the user's viewing history, so it can still be watched even without an internet connection.

With this update, YouTube Premium further pampers its users with wider control, clearer audio, and more flexible content access on various devices.
