JAKARTA - Meta introduced two new features on Facebook Dating, namely dating assistant and Meet Cute, to help users reduce fatigue due to constantly doing swipe while looking for a partner.
The presence of these two new features is motivated by hundreds of thousands of young people (age 18'29) in the US and Canada who make a Facebook Dating profile every month.
With a 10% increase in match between young users each year. We want to help you meet more people who are of interest to you, without having to constantly swipe or pay to unlock certain features," Meta wrote on its blog.
Dating assistants are present as assistants for conversations that provide personal recommendations based on user interests and preferences. This feature allows for a more specific pair search.
Not only that, the tech giant also said that this assistant can provide dating ideas and help users improve their profile.
Meanwhile, Meet Cute offers a new, simpler way of automatically matching users using personalization algorithms.
Users will get a weekly surprise pair, and can choose to start a conversation or get past the couple.

In the early stages, Matches from Meet Cute will be awarded every week, and Meta is exploring other frequency options. Users can exit this feature at any time.
