Tencent Launches 3D 3.0 Hunyuan: Free 3D Model Maker AI Tool With Realistic Results

JAKARTA - Making realistic 3D models usually takes weeks with the hard work of digital artists. However, Tencent has just changed the game through the launch of the 3.0 version of Hunyuan 3D. This latest technology presents very realistic results and, surprisingly, is completely free to use.

Different from other 3D AI generators that often produce strange and disproportionate models, Hunyuan 3D 3.0 uses an approach called 3D-DiT. The way it works is similar to a professional kiosk: ranging from rough shape, then slowly adding finer details to produce a real-looking final model.

Instead of making all models at once, which usually produce inconsistent shapes, this system builds layer-by-layer models, ranging from the basic shape to small details such as skin textures and cloth folding.

Performance And High Quality

Tencent said the increase in version 3.0 was very significant. The accuracy of the results is three times better than the previous generation, with support of up to 36 billion voxels and resolutions that can reach 15363. This figure is far above the standard 3D AI generator in general. But most surprisingly, all these features can be accessed for free.

One of the biggest challenges AI 3D has had so far is to produce realistic faces and human bodies. Many tools previously produced characters with strange proportions and rigid poses.

With 3D 3.0 Hunyuan, Tencent seems to have solved the problem. The human model now appears with a proportional face, a natural skin texture, and a more flexible and realistic pose.

Smart Features To Solve Problems

This technology is also able to fill in the part of a hidden object. For example, if the character is side by side or partially covered by other objects, the AI system can guess exactly what the shape of the invisible part looks like.

For textures, the results are now much more accurate: skin, cloth, and other materials can wrap objects naturally, without looking like 'stabbed' by force.

Free For All, Plus Professional Version

Tencent could sell this technology at a high price, but instead they released it free of charge through the 3D Hunyuan platform. In addition, Tencent also provides a cloud API for developers who want to integrate this technology into their projects.

For professionals, Tencent is testing Hunyuan 3D Studio, a complete suite that includes advanced features such as UV mapping to mining. Currently, the invitation stage is limited, but users can register via the official Tencent platform.

Furthermore, Tencent plans to release an open-source version called Hunyuan 3D Omni, which will provide more freedom for researchers and companies to customize according to their specific needs.

So far, many AI 3D tools have promised revolution, but often disappointing in practice. The 3D 3.0 Hunyuan is different because it brings a combination of quality results, free access, and easy use that can really democratize the manufacture of 3D models.

Both for indie developers with limited budgets, digital artists, or just hobbyists who want to try to create 3D models, big obstacles are now officially abolished.

At a time when many AI innovations seemed 'wah' but difficult to use, Tencent presented technology that really worked well and that could be a big step in the digital creative world.
