JAKARTA Apple is expanding the protection features of children and adolescents throughout its device ecosystem. The launch of this tool coincides with the launch of iOS 26 and other operating systems (OS).

Through this update, parents will have more control and ways to ensure their children have secure online experiences. These new features can be accessed since the device was first updated with the latest OS.

This additional protection for children and adolescents has been introduced since last June. After being tested for several months, users can now simplify the management of Children's Accounts with several new features that are easy to use.

The first accessible feature is the ability to share the age range between children and the app. This feature is designed to better maintain child privacy so that the application used does not take the user's personal data.

In addition, Apple is also expanding built-in protection for adolescents aged 13 to 17 years. This limit is made more stringent so that children and adolescents are protected from inappropriate content.

The App Store also gets updates in terms of age ratings. Now there are 13+, 16+, and 18+ ratings, as well as clearer labels for app features. This will help parents in allowing their children to download certain applications.

The Communication Limitation Feature has also been improved, namely parents can agree to new contacts remotely. This approval applies to children using Apple's default apps.
