JAKARTA - Binance announced that it has appointed SB Seker as the new Head of Binance Operations in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, while they continue to work hard in shaping the future of crypto.

Binance CEO Richard Teng believes that Seker's expertise will help Binance strengthen partnerships, navigate the growing regulatory landscape, and bring sustainable growth that prioritizes user transparency and protection.

In its new role, Seker will oversee Binance's regional operations, build strategic partnerships, and encourage market adoption across APAC.

One of its main mandates is to strengthen relations with policymakers and regulators, further confirming Binance's leadership in regulatory compliance in one of the world's most dynamic crypto markets.

"APAC has always been a key area for Binance, and Seker's deep experience in various markets makes it very appropriate to lead the next regional growth and engagement phase," Teng said in his official announcement.

Prior to joining Binance, Seker served as Senior Vice President at Crypto.com Group, where he oversees global product development as well as legal and regulatory affairs for APAC and MENASA.

He has also held senior positions in the field of law in Ant Group, Rothschild & Co, and Amicorp Group. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a litigation lawyer in Australia before becoming a central bank lawyer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

"With Seter's strong background in financial services and regulated markets, we believe Binance can continue to advance our mission in driving sustainable and responsible growth, while upholding the highest compliance standards in APAC," Teng said.

Seker also admitted that he was very excited to join Binance to help shape the future of a sustainable, innovative, and regulatory digital asset ecosystem in the region with a talented team.

"By working closely with our regulators, partners, and the wider community, I look forward to encouraging strategic initiatives and presenting strong operations across the region," he stressed.
