Vivo Y500 To Launch In China On September 1 With Battery 8200mAh

Vivo is preparing to introduce new devices in their Y series line in China. The company has confirmed that the Vivo Y500 will launch on September 1, with the main feature in the spotlight being a large-capacity 8200mAh battery. This is a significant improvement over Vivo Y300 last year which had 6500mAh batteries. Vivo calls it the longest-resilient battery they have ever created.

Vivo Y500 not only excels in battery capacity. Vivo also increases the resilience of this device. The phone is equipped with IP69+, IP69, and IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance, making it one of Vivo's toughest devices.

In addition, Y500 has a SGS Gold Certification Five-star label for resistance to collisions and falls, and has passed the military standard environmental test. In other words, Vivo positioned Y500 as a stronger phone than its predecessor.

Vivo has released a teaser that provides the first picture of its design. The phone features a punch-hole display on the front, a double rear camera setup with a ring-shaped LED flash, and is available in three color options: Black, Blue, and Purple.

Regarding specifications, trusted Digital Chat Station tips have shared information about the internal components of Y500. This phone will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, replacing Dimensity 6300 used on Y300.

Y500 will also maintain the OLED FHD + screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The rear camera reportedly includes a 50MP main sensor with a secondary lens, while the front camera will use an 8MP sensor for selfies.

With the launch remaining a few days, Vivo is clearly looking to highlight the Y500 with a focus on long battery life and device toughness. Further details, including prices and availability outside China, are expected to be announced once the phone is officially launched.
