JAKARTA - Google officially launched a 'Preferred Sources' feature that allows users to choose their favorite sites to appear more frequently in the Top Stories section on search results.

This feature has been tested since June 2025. Now, this feature is available to English users in the United States and India, since August 12, without the need to register for Labs first.

With the launch of Preferred Sources in the US and India, you can select favorite sources and keep getting the latest information from sites you follow and lagggani be it your favorite sports blog or local news outlets," Google wrote on its blog.

So, when you select favorite sources, the latest and relevant articles from these sources will appear more frequently in the Top Stories section of your search.

Here's how to select favorite sources in Google Search:

Once selected, the source will appear more frequently on Top Stories or in a special section From your source on the search results page. Users will still view news from other sites and can change or delete the source list at any time.

Google insists it will roll out this feature to wider users in stages in the coming days.
