JAKARTA NVIDIA has finally obtained permission to export its H20 processor to China. The company has received a license from the United States (US) Department of Commerce.
With the receipt of this license, NVIDIA can now access one of its main markets without a hitch. Launching from Reuters, the licensing also follows the cancellation of the ban on selling H20 chips to China. This rule took effect last April.
NVIDIA had admitted that they were worried about the export restrictions they experienced. They believe it will have a financial impact and the losses they suffered are estimated at 5.5 billion US dollars (Rp89 trillion).

Before this license was issued, NVIDIA submitted an application to the US government to resume the sale of their H20 processor unit to China. Fortunately, this request was approved so that NVIDIA could reduce the losses they suffered.
Although H20 has been allowed to be sold to China, exports of other NVIDIA processors are still limited. Overall, NVIDIA sales are still limited to drive US progress.
This rule aims to slow down the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and defense in Beijing. Even so, China remains the world's largest semiconductor market and is an important revenue driver for US companies.
