JAKARTA The internet can never be separated from cyber attacks, even gaming accounts like Steam. Whatever action you have taken to protect your account, you can still be the target of account hacking.

If you become one of the victims of hacking Steam's account, there are several tricks you can do to recover and reclaim the account. Here's how to recover the Steam account that was the victim of the hack.

Open the Steam account recovery page. Select the 'My Steam account has been stolen and I need help to recover it' menu. At the bottom, tap Reset My Password. Enter an email connected to your account. Check the verification code sent by Steam. Click the link on the email sent by Steam.

Keep in mind that the steps above can only be done if the email linked to your Steam account has not changed. If you manage to recover the account, make sure to scan your computer from malware.

Use an antiviral scan of Windows Bawatan or Malwarebytes scans. Both of these software can be used for free. If you avoid malware scanning, your account can be hacked for the second time.

If you find malware in your system, delete it, restart your system, then run the scan again. It's important to run multiple scans to detect undetected malware for the first time, or deleted and m unplugging again.
