JAKARTA Google announced the expansion for NotebookLM, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning platform. The application is now available to younger users.

With this expansion, Google wants to provide a special AI-based tool that can help students understand the materials they study at school or other places. The hope is that NotebookLM can increase students' insight.

"NotebookLMs are now available to younger users to help them learn, learn and understand class material," Google wrote on its official website, quoted on Tuesday, August 8.

With this expansion, students can convert their notes to Audio Overview such as podcasts into various languages. They can also visualize material in the form of an interactive Mindmap.

This feature will help students deepen their understanding of matter. In addition, students can also ask questions about their material resources in a more interactive and effective way.

To ensure the safety of its applications for minors, Google implements stricter content policies. This is done to prevent a NotebookLM response that is potentially inappropriate or dangerous.

In addition, user privacy will also be Google's priority. All chats and uploaded content will not be reviewed manually or used to train AI models.

"NotebookLM is available as a core service for all ages and is covered by the Workspace for Education requirements. For consumers, NotebookLM is available for users aged 13 years and over," Google explained.
