JAKARTA The Microsoft Recall feature has received rejection from many parties for a long time, one of which is Signal. Now, this feature is also blocked by Windows applications such as AdGuard and Brave browsers.

Signal started blocking Recall earlier this year as a form of rejection of the feature. The communication platform highlights user privacy concerns and it appears that other app developers agree with this.

AdGuard, in a post, stated that this feature does threaten user privacy. In fact, the platform calls Recall a feature with disturbing capabilities.

"Whenever, the system can take screenshots from private chat windows, online forms where you enter your credit card, or just personal data that you don't want to save," said AdGuard.

Brave has reasons that are not much different. He stated that blocking Recall is important to do so that the feature does not access its browser. Brave also acknowledged that this action was inspired by Signal blocking.

"We will disable it by default for Windows 11+ users, with a button to reactivate it for users who really want a Recall," Brave said.

In line with this blocking, developers hope Microsoft can offer a detailed ability to disable Recalls. That way, they no longer need to block the feature.
